Tunisian President, Beji Essebsi Dies In Hospital
The President of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi has died on Thursday due to an ailment officials refused to disclose, having Wednesday been admitted into intensive care.
The 92-year-old was the country’s first freely elected leader and world’s oldest sitting president.
He served as the North African country’s Prime Minister sometime in 2011 before winning the first ever presidential election in 2014 on the heels of the Arab uprisings across the region.
