Suspected Herdsmen Killed 16 People In Fresh Benue Attack
On Saturday suspected herdsmen attacked three communities in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Reports says the men attacked and shot at the people of the community indiscriminately.
Francis Ayagan, the Chairman of Gwer West Local Government has confirmed the attack.
He said, “Sixteen people were killed by militia herders in Tse Tuma, Chiachia and Tse Targu communities and neighbouring villages, all in Gwer West.”
Sub-sector Commander of the Operation Whirl Stroke in charge of Gwer West, Flying Officer Mohammed Abubakar confirming the attack revealed that the attack was a retaliation for the cows which were taken by men who claimed to be livestock guards.
