Senatorial Election: Akpabio’s ‘Likely’ Defeat Spread Tension In Akwa Ibom

Political juggernaut is being battered in Ikot Ekpene and Essien Udim as results were still being expected.

According to Independent Newspaper, there is an ongoing tension in some parts of Akwa Ibom State as election results so far collated from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District do not appear to be in favour of Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

Recalled, that Sen. Akpabio had boosted that elections will be concluded within three hours.

He had also openly bragged that the PDP should have presented to him a suitable match to enable him feel the weight of his ‘impending’ victory.

But the ‘unsuitable’ match and former Deputy Governor of the state, Engr Chris Ekpenyong, appears to be invoking sleepless nights in the camps of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

So far, Senator Godswill Akpabio has lost to the PDP candidate in Ukanafun, OrukAnam, Abak, Etim Ekpo, Obot Akara, Ika, Ini and Ikono. Results from Ikot Ekpene and Essien Udim were still being expected.
