Rooney To Make His 120th Cap For England On Thursday Against USA

England will be welcoming Rooney on the 15th (Thursday) for a friendly match against USA.
The former United and Everton attacking mid-fielder who joined D.C. United in MLS last summer will feature in the friendly against USA at Wembley stadium.
Since joining D.C. United, the English football star has scored 12 goals in 20 matches played.
Ryan Giggs, his former team mate and coach believes he’s “an iconic player” and should be celebrated.
Giggs, who’s now managing the Wales national football team in his words said, “I understand it’s a celebration game against America and I’m all for it. “In football or in sport in general, people are not recognized or recognized too late. This is a chance for not only a great player, but an iconic player and top goal scorer.”
Ryan continued by saying, “He’s gone ahead of Gary Lineker and Bobby Charlton, over 50 goals. It gives him a chance to thank the fans for all the support, and the fans to thank him for all the work he’s done over the years.”
Rooney has made 559 appearances in all competitions during his 13 seasons at Old Trafford and has scored 253 goals, making him the Red Devils all time leading goalscorer.
The 32 year old has made 119 appearances for his country and next week’s friendly against USA will add a cap to make it 120, the highest cap for any England player.
He’s also scored 53 goals for his country, becoming England’s all time top scorer.
His home men and Fans will be welcoming him back on Thursday next week. Kickoff time is 3:00 pm ET.
