Protests Get To White House Over George Floyd’s Death
There have been series of protests across United States following the death of a black man, George Floyd, as the protest has now gotten to White House.
Protesters took their anger to the White House, in a wave of disruptions that took over part of the United States during the week due to the death of George Floyd.
But the U.S. secret service assured via a tweet, that normalcy would be restored across the country.
“Secret Service personnel are currently assisting other law enforcement agencies during a demonstration in Lafayette Park. In the interest of public safety we encourage all to remain peaceful,” it tweeted.
White House correspondent, Jennifer Jacobs, reports that White House is under lockdown orders from the U.S. Secret Service amid protests outside the gates over George Floyd.
Also, there was a video footage of people protesting inside the White House Friday night.
Recall that Floyd eventually died after he was pinned to the ground by a police officer ( according to video footages).
The indicted police officer has been arrested and charged with three degree murder(not intentional) and manslaughter.
But the parents of Floyd wrote the Attorney on Friday, noting that the demise of their son was a first degree murder( that is, it was intentional).
Donald Trump had assured that justice would be done.
