Paris Jackson performed on Saturday at an L.A.-area fundraising event, with a very special member of her family in the audience: her grandmother, Katherine Jackson.
As the Daily Mail reports, Paris, the 20-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, took to the stage of the Canyon Sessions cancer fundraiser alongside Gabriel Glenn, the guitarist of her band, The Soundflowers.
Marking the second time she’s performed with The Soundflowers, Jackson later shared a photo of her grandmother on Instagram, writing that she was thrilled that the 88-year-old Jackson family matriarch enjoyed the performance.
“I can’t believe my grandma made it to our second live show ever. and she actually liked it!?!!!” she wrote, adding, “I love you so much grandma. i’m so happy we got to play for you and to play for such an incredible cause.”
Jackson also shared some video footage of the folk-tinged acoustic performance:
Prior to her performance, Jackson revealed via Twitter that she had recently undergone surgery for an “abscess a little bit smaller than a golf ball.”
She further elaborated on the surgery in an Instagram Story on Saturday: “It was definitely the most pain that I’ve ever been through in my entire life.”
