Udom And Akpabio

By Wisdom Peter,

Report from Politics Times has it that Senator Gods’swill Obot Akpabio who is representing North West at the Senate has expressed his Surprise over alleged insults hurled at his personality.

The former governor is reported to have said he was shocked that the present Governor of the state, Udom Emmanuel could insult him, claiming he single-handedly brought Udom from Lagos and installed him
as the governor of Akwa Ibom state, also describing him as a “Political Novice”.

According to Politics Times, the Akpabio said, “I was shocked that Emmanuel whom I brought from Lagos and installed as a Governor even though he was not a member of the party on whose platform he stood election and become Governor, could call a world press conference to insult me.”

It could be recalled that The senator who has become a big influence in Nigerian Politics shocked the country as he defected from The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to The All Progressive’s Congress (APC), declaring his full support for the government of President Buhari till 2023, after all the backlashes and statements he made against Buhari in 2014/2015.

Akpabio after his defection took a new turn putting the present governor whom he brought up to the office in fears and worries, and now throws up hands for the APC governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere, his Former Deputy.

Akpabio after his defection has held several campaigns demanding the people’s vote for Nsima Ekere, saying Udom whom he claimed his better successor in 2015 is not the right man to lead Akwa Ibom state to their expected ends.

Akpabio expressed optimism that “the electorate in the state would reciprocate the kind gesture of Mr. President Buhari by voting massively for him and all candidates of the APC in the state.”

Emmanuel Udom who seemed to be in fears at first, now stands strong and ready to battle his former boss/godfather.
