A court has said that Governor Godwin Obaseki will not be restrained from contesting in People’s Democratic Party’s primaries in Edo.

A Federal High Court judge in Portharcourt has said that Governor Godwin Obaseki was not restrained from contesting the People’s Democratic Party’s primaries.
Justice E. A Obile of the Federal High Court said that the motion seeking to stop the Governor from contesting be served to the defendants including Mr Obaseki via newspaper publication, Premium Times reports.
Recall that one Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, a PDP governorship aspirant, had alleged that Obaseki was not qualified to contest on the PDP platform.
In a suit filed by Ogbeide-Ihama( citing educational credentials, among others) , he had prayed the court to suspend the PDP primary until the case brought against Obaseki were determined.
