Viewers who’ve been enjoying the excitement on Global TV’s suspense drama “Ransom” have some good news to celebrate now that it’s been confirmed the show has been greenlit for a third season.
Filming on Season 3 of the high-stakes hostage-negotiation drama — produced by eOne, Korda Studios, Big Light Productions and Sienna Films — will commence in October in Budapest, Hungary, with 13 new episodes to air on Global and CBS in 2019.
This marks the fourth renewal announcement from Global TV in recent days, following renewals for provocative medical drama “Mary Kills People”, the Jason Priestley-Cindy Sampson-starring whodunit “Private Eyes” and Canadian reality TV hit “Big Brother Canada”.

Returning to “Ransom” for Season 3 are Luke Roberts, Nazneen Contractor, Brandon Jay McLaren and Karen LeBlanc.
Set in the world of international crisis and hostage negotiating, “Ransom” follows the high-stakes exploits of Eric Beaumont (Roberts) and his elite team as they’re tasked with saving lives when no one else can, thanks to Beaumont’s keen understanding of the criminal mind and his unique insight into human behaviour.
