Dictionary.com Subtweets Kylie Jenner After Forbes Calls Her A ‘Self-Made’ Almost-Billionaire

Dictionary.com wants to let Kylie Jenner and Forbes know the meaning behind the word “self-made.”

On Wednesday, Forbes revealed their latest cover of America’s richest self-made women with none other than makeup-mogul and youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family, Kylie Jenner.

“At 21, she’s set to be the youngest-ever self-made billionaire,” the cover states. “Welcome to the era of extreme fame leverage.”

Forbes predicts that Jenner, who turns 21 on August 10, will be the “youngest self-made billionaire ever, male or female” thanks to the success of her $900 million makeup empire, Kylie Cosmetics. The entrepreneur is set to even surpass Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire at age 23.

However, Dictionary.com had a bone to pick with Jenner and the magazine, sharing a not-so-subtle tweet defining what it means to be “self-made.”

“Self-made means having succeeded in life unaided,” they said in the tweet. “Used in a sentence: Forbes says that Kylie Jenner is a self-made woman.”

Dictionary.com also pointed out that the searches for “self-made” were up by 18,628 per cent on their website.

Launched just two years ago, Jenner’s cosmetics line sold more than $630 million in product, bringing the company’s worth to $800 million, making her brand the fastest growing in the beauty industry. The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star is both the face and sole owner of the company.

“We consider any person who built her own fortune, and didn’t inherit the money, to be self-made,” Forbes‘ methodology reads in the article.
