Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has tendered an apology letter to the Lagos state Government for violating the stay-at-home-order declared in the state to curb Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The singer, alongside others, had violated the order by attending a crowded birthday party organised by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, for her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello otherwise known as JJC Skillz, at their residence in Amen Estate.

Naira Marley and a former Lagos governorship aspirant, Babatunde Gbadamosi, penned written apology letters to the state government after the earlier charges filed against them were dropped.

The Lagos State government published the duo’s apology letters on its official Twitter handle on Friday.

The singer had been detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba on Monday April 6 after he turned himself in for questioning.

The Lagos State government had withdrawn the charges subject to some conditions which include a written undertaking letter that he would continue to comply with “the directives of Mr President and Mr Governor.”
