Ballot Box Snatchers: We’ll Comply With President Buhari’s Directives – Army

Concerning President Muhammadu Buhari’s comment on Ballot Box Snatchers, the Nigerian Army has vowed to obey the President’s order to exercise ‘No-mercy’ on those who would engage in snatching Ballot Boxes during the 2019 general elections.

President Buhari earlier made a controversial statement during a crucial meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday 18th February, concerning Ballot Box Snatchers which has gone viral on every platform.

The President in a reported statement warned that those planning to make away with ballot boxes during the elections will do so at the cost of their lives, stating that they will not live to commit another crime, coherently giving order to Security agents, precisely The Army, to deal ruthlessly with anyone attempting to cart away with election Ballot Boxes.

This statement caused a stir among masses, as many accused The President of encouraging Jungle Justice and extra-judicial killings by the Army, while many are in deep support with Buhari.

Meanwhile, The Nigerian Army on their part has agreed to effect the order as given by The President.

In a statement made by Army spokesperson, Sagir Musa, according to Legit.ng, it reads: “If Commander-in-Chief has given order to the Nigerian Army to that effect, be rest assured that order will be totally and effectively obeyed without any ifs or buts.”
