Ajimobi’s Wife Blasts Oyo Deputy Gov During Condolence Visit (Video)
The wife of late former governor of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi has blasted the deputy governor of the state, Rauf Olaniyan during condolence visit for failing to have a word with the family when the late former governor was down with COVID-19.
Florence Ajimobi, the widow of the late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has been seen in a video clip tackling the deputy governor of the state, Rauf Olaniyan, for failing to empathize with the deceased’s family while he was down with Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Mrs Ajimobi slammed the Governor Seyi Makinde-led government for allegedly neglecting her family when her late husband battled with the disease that claimed his life last week.
The former Oyo first lady and Olaniyan were seen exchanging words during a condolence visit by the deputy governor and some state governors.
Mrs Ajimobi said: “I think the least anybody can do, as a God-fearing person, is to send me a word of encouragement at that time. And even after he died, not even you, Mr Deputy Governor called me…”
Olaniyan then interjected by saying, “I called you,” but Ajimobi’s widow responded: “You should have sent me a text message.
“I don’t have your number, I can’t pick up. I am the wife of a politician, I don’t pick numbers I don’t know. You can send a message. Everybody is going to die. My husband is dead, and he served this state for eight years. What are we talking about!”
The Ajimobi was laid to rest on Sunday at his residence in Oluyole Estate, Oyo State.
Ajimobi's wife complained about Oyo state government for not reaching out to her after the death of her husband.
Governor Seyi Makinde could have handled things better.
